as per Hubby’s request

I got some solid days off finally.
since my job is only seasonal, I’m being laid off at the end of the month, which is NEXT friday. yikes. I had some credit hours that needed to be used up, so I took a few hours off yesterday and all day off today. I never work on fridays. I’m taking the morning off on monday so I have hours to work next friday since you’re required to work part of your last day. all that make sense?! good.

the short of the story is…I was off all day and we went to the mountains.

we took Jaggar for his first “big” hike. a mile up to Black Mountain lookout.

Hubby’s actually got a few days off too! it was a family affair.

“are we there yet?”

Twogs could go all day. Jaggar kept up with big sis best he could…with some minor naps along the way.

in other un exciting news.

I climbed back in the running saddle.

only 2.5 miles. but I don’t want to re-injure my IT band…not fun.

I’ll get there. I’ve got about a month to work up to about 6 miles…no problem.

long walk for a little puppy

after we welcomed little Jagger to the family, I went away for the weekend to work some overtime in Cody in the fire dispatch center.

I was blessed with night shift. Smile with tongue out

which means…I came in at 7pm and left at 10am. slept for a few hours and did it all over again the next night. I was only able to do it friday and saturday nights since I have to be back to my regular job tomorrow morning.

Hubby took care of the little man all weekend and made sure to give me the play by play on potty times in the middle of the night. so far…Jag man seems to know how to wake us up to go out in the middle of the night.

Hubby took him for a little walk the other night, but not too long. they (the “experts”) say to allow your puppy to get used to the leash by putting it on them and letting them walk around the yard, then slowly work in the idea of a walk.

but with both Twogs and Jag man…they took to the leash no problem and I say “hey, let’s start walking them now!” that way they know how to “easy'” walk when they get to be dogs and they aren’t the ones taking us for the walk.

at 6 weeks old and close to a 2 mile walk we get this…

one pooped freaking puppy.

when we got home he passed out until he caught his breath. played with Twogs for a little bit before I separated them so Jagger will bond with me and not Twogwotee (again…something else the “experts” talk about).

I brought Jagger upstairs and he helped me fold laundry and then decided he had enough and fell asleep on top of his pile. Winking smile

DSCN1323

ok ok. laundry folding duties ex-nayed. I put him in his bed and he’s been asleep ever since. I know there is a potty break coming soon, but I’m so tired…I don’t know if I can wait. I may just have to have him wake me up.

little Jagger.

I had this surprise planned for weeks. I didn’t tell Hubby, I just did! I had the puppy picked out for 3 weeks. I didn’t want to tell him before he was ready for pickup and today he was ready!
I made Hubby close his eyes until I placed little Jagger on his belly. He was in complete shock!

Me-1 Hubby-0!
Hubby is awful with surprises!
I am not!

He’s 6 weeks…and just a giant furball.
there will be a little adjusting for everyone!

Woah. Hello there!

Holy. Freaking. Canoly!

Where did the summer go?

Oh that's right…I've worked my little tail off to earn some mula!

Its been far too long, and I'm sure I've lost all my followers by now, but ohhh weeeeellll!

Summer seems to pick up a lot for me. And that's really no lie. I've been busy working my regular M-Th job and then on my days off have been working on the fire side of things. Running supplies to fires, shuttling people to and from fires, trying to get in on a little fire action myself. But that hasn't happened yet.

Things have kind of slowed down. I'm at least back in the office regularly and not out in the woods until all hours of the night. I've really slacked off on running. Something about those near 100* temps hasn't really put me in the running kind of mood. Which unfortunately means that I am scratching the idea of running my second half marathon in 2 weeks. I had signed up for the Billings ½ back in June when I was still sticking hard to my schedule and feeling great. BUT! This last month has just been hard to find the time to run. I've had 3 days off in the last month (my doing…I'll work OT!) and the weather has been simply too hot for me to attempt. I didn't want to die here people!

A lot has happened over the summer. Some good, some ok, some scary! But we've made it through.

Today is a pretty big day. BIG surprise happening…it will be like Christmas in September. Hopefully I'll find some time tonight to let you in on that secret! I can't sit still today, I'm too excited!

I spent a little time this morning ordering some running equipment and it makes me anxious to get back out there and train! Gym bag in the mail, an "I <3 SWEAT!" I keep saying..i'll get back into next week. Well next week it is. FOR REAL! No more messing around. I need to slowly get my mileage back up to 20 a week. And I better start freaking enjoying what's left of the running outside business, because all too soon it will be winter and I will have to fall back in love with running on a treadmill in a controlled environment.

NFL starts tonight! And you best believe I am sporting the GREEN BAY jersey!
